THE CARDKIND FIELD GUIDE
Everyday Legends: an original card party game
Turn your friends into the expansion pack. This storytelling game is for 3–8 players, uses one card per player and takes about 10–20 minutes.
Build the set
Each player makes a portrait card with 100 HP, 40 power, one signature move and one everyday superpower. Keep the stats equal; the game is about how creatively you use an ability. Download the cards to show on your phones, or print a collection. No account or shared online room is needed.
Play a round
- Choose a rotating host. The host reads one challenge from the list below.
- Each other player gets 30 seconds to explain how their card’s move or superpower solves it. Be specific and keep it friendly.
- The host awards one point for the most surprising solution. A different player becomes host next round.
- Play until everyone has hosted twice. The highest score wins; tied players share the title.
HP and power are decorative in this storytelling mode. Track points on paper. There is no live multiplayer or automatic scoring in the Cardkind studio.
Six challenges for your first game
- The picnic starts in ten minutes and nobody remembered plates.
- A dragon has moved into the neighborhood and needs a hobby.
- Your spaceship’s navigation system only responds to compliments.
- The birthday cake is missing, but the party must go on.
- A rainstorm has cancelled the outdoor movie night.
- The museum’s most valuable exhibit is a very bored cat.
Try a cooperative round
Give the whole group two minutes to combine three abilities into one plan. Each player contributes exactly one sentence. The objective is to include everyone’s card, not to find a winner. This version works particularly well for family gatherings and team celebrations.
Keep the card fun for its owner
Let each person approve their portrait and text. Build powers around talents, hobbies and kind inside jokes. Skip sensitive traits or embarrassing stories someone has not volunteered. A good card makes its owner want to show it to someone else.
These are original Cardkind house rules. The cards do not function as official cards in an existing commercial trading card game.
