THE CARDKIND FIELD GUIDE

Print your Cardkind cards

Make a desk keepsake, a birthday set or a pocket-sized reminder that someone is legendary.

Print one card at home

  1. Finish your card and choose Print card in the studio.
  2. Select Open print dialog. Choose your printer, or your browser’s Save as PDF option.
  3. Set scale to 100% / actual size and turn off headers and footers. Each card is laid out at 2.5 × 3.5 inches (63.5 × 88.9 mm).
  4. Print one test on plain paper. Measure it before using your final stock.
  5. Cut along the outer edge, then place the card in a sleeve if you want extra protection.

The print preview is a useful starting point, but printer margins and browser settings can change the final size. If a sheet is clipped, use fewer cards or check the paper orientation and margins.

JPEG or PNG?

Both downloads are 1500 × 2100 pixels. At 2.5 × 3.5 inches, that is 600 pixels per inch before any printer processing. The number of pixels matters more than the file’s resolution metadata; set the physical size in your print software. The quality of the portrait still depends on the original photo.

JPEG is smaller and convenient for messaging. PNG keeps line edges and lettering crisp without JPEG compression. For the best single-card print, use the PNG download or Print card. Collection sheets use smaller 600 × 840 pixel saved previews to conserve browser storage; reopen each saved card and export individually for the highest resolution.

Choose paper your printer supports

A matte finish is forgiving and reduces reflections. Heavier stock can feel more like a collectible, but check your printer’s supported paper weight before loading it. A home-printed card will not necessarily have the coating, stiffness or durability of a professionally manufactured game card.

Before ordering from a print shop

Ask the printer for its exact trim size, bleed, safe area, color profile and file format requirements. Cardkind’s current downloads are finished-size fronts without bleed or custom backs. Do not assume they are production-ready for every printer. Avoid automatic cropping that cuts the border or text, and order a physical proof before a large batch.

Custom printing: a future chapter

We are exploring a printed-card option, but there is currently no print-order service, checkout, shipping offer or preorder. Downloads and home-print layouts are available now. A future service would need approved samples, clear pricing, portrait handling terms and a reliable fulfillment partner before taking orders.
